Five young Irish farmers will be selected for the Tesco Future Farmer Foundation, a year-long agri-business development programme.

Applicants have until next Monday, August 29, to enter. Launched in the UK in 2014 to help young people make a confident start in agriculture, this is the first time Irish-based farmers are invited to apply.

Some of the previous participants were looking to take over the family farm or to embark on a new farming venture, while others were new entrants to farming.
