The Quadix Trooper 800 is a new utility task vehicle marketed throughout the island of Ireland by sole distributors Wolfhound Vehicles based near Dungannon, Co Tyrone.

Powered by a Perkins three-cylinder 762cc diesel engine, it weighs 700kg unladen, and is rated over 20 for horse power, with a top travel speed of 25 miles per hour.

This UTV is recommended to pull 800kg, and takes a payload up to 400kg in the cargo box.

A ground clearance of 11 inches, 26-inch agri tyres, four wheel drive and lockable front and rear differentials can get the Trooper 800 through difficult terrain, and a 3,000 lbs winch, which can be operated remotely, can help it out of any tight spot.

The continuously variable transmission is made by CVTech in Canada.

All-around independent suspension and hydraulic disc brakes are standard in the Trooper 800, which is road-legal (and has T1 tractor classification in Northern Ireland for cheaper tax).

The cargo box is easily tipped by hand, using the release levers fitted on both sides of the cargo bed.

Unusual in UTVs, it has right hand drive; the turning circle is 4.2m.

Included are a hard plastic roof (with in-built speakers), bull bar, tow hitches front and rear, daytime running lights, and glass windscreen with wiper.

Power steering, a bench seat, and full cabin enclosure are available as options.

It is priced at £9,995 plus VAT (€12,995 plus VAT), with a two-year parts and labour warranty.
