Rathcormac holding set to close to offers

A top-quality 85-acre residential farm offer in Rathcormac, Co Cork, that was featured in these pages on May 14 is drawing towards a close.

The date for final offers on the holding has been set at July 17 by joint agents Savills and Dick Barry & Sons.

The landmark property on the outskirts of the village has a near-perfect combination of quality, location and reputation and attracted a large number of bids on the various lots.

So far, the total is at €1.5m. It’s already ahead of the price guide of €1.36m for the combined holding that was being offered in four lots.

In Killissane near Castletownroche, about 20km north, a 101-acre farm was sold by private treaty in the last few months for a figure believed to have been over the price guide of €1.5m set by selling agent Liam Mullins.

If this is so, then the property will have made something in the region of €15,000/acre — exceptionally strong.
