Lamb prices have taken a hammering at factories this week, with the biggest year-to-date weekly drop in prices.

The quoted prices for lambs have been cut 50 cents/kg at most factories, leaving the general run of prices on offer at 600 cents/kg, plus the usual bonus payments for quality, varying between 6 and 10 cents/kg, which includes quality assurance.

An easing in the trade in Britain and France after Easter has been blamed for the sudden downturn.
