A 53-acre Fermoy farm for €500,000

Coming up for auction on March 19, at the Corrin Mart site in Fermoy, is a 53-acre residential farm.

It is 2km from Whitechurch village and should interest farmers in the area.

The probate sale of the property, at Drumgarriff North, is being handled on behalf of the Ryan family, by CCM Properties.

According to selling agent, Éamonn O’Brien, of the Mitchelstown office, the land is good quality: “The land quality is good in the main,” he says, “but there are eight or nine acres down at the bottom. You could either reclaim it and bring it back, or decide to plant it with forestry.”

An additional attraction is the two-storey residence, for which planning permission was granted in 2012 for an extension.

There is also a potential site, say the selling agents, situated close to the entrance.

“The two-storey residence appears to be in good structural condition,” says Mr O’Brien, “but will require some refurbishment to maximise its full potential as a family home, or as a rental option when one considers its proximity to Cork City (only 10km from the city centre).”

The price of €500,000 for the entire holding should ensure a brisk start to bidding. The agents have noted a strong level of interest.

There are some farm buildings on the property, but they are relatively meagre.

There are no entitlements with it and contracts are available from Michael Powell Solicitors, in Cork City.
