It will be fascinating to see the outcome of an auction on the 30th of this month comprising what is described as a holding of 11.5 acres of “top class” agricultural land.

The farm land at Clykeel, Rathcormac, on the outskirts of the satellite village will be auctioned by Ballinhassig-based auctioneer Christy Buckley at the Grand Hotel, Fermoy, Co Cork, at 3pm, on Friday, January 30.

The property falls within the attention span of a number of different types of buyers, from expanding dairy farmers to hobby farmers.

“The property has its own private water supply,” says Christy, who also points out that access is not a problem, with “reasonably good road frontage” and electricity.

The property is laid out in grass and has been farmed by the current owners for a number of years.

The price guide of €120,000 puts it at just over €10,000/acre — a very reasonable price given the property’s quality, size and location.
