Arrabawn boss denies merger reports

Arrabawn Co-op chief executive Conor Ryan has denied that the co-op is on the verge of a major merger.

Commenting on media reports, he said: “However, we are in regular contact with other processors to discuss points of common interest and how we could work together to improve efficiencies”.

Regarding comments that some milk suppliers would move to another co-op if a merger was not agreed, Mr Ryan said “I want to categorically put it on record that we have received no notice from any suppliers to transfer their milk elsewhere”.
