Young Farmer of the Year awards recognise initiative and innovation

The team of judges for the final of the prestigious FBD Young Farmer of the Year awards, which will take place in Bantry, Co Cork, next Tuesday, will be headed by Michael Berkery. 

Mr Berkery, is chairman of FBD since 1996 and was general secretary of the Irish Farmers Association, for 25 years until his retirement in March 2009.

He is a director of FBD Trust Company Limited and a number of other companies and is an acknowledged authority on agriculture in Ireland and across the European Union.
