Farmers reminded to renew their declarations of non-use for vehicles

Significant numbers of farm vehicles were declared in July 2013, and are now due for renewal, or those farmers could face motor tax fines for non-compliance.

According to Department of the Environment, 138 tractors and agricultural vehicles were declared off the road in July 2013, 622 in August, and 8,131 in September

Renewal notices, requesting that owners either make a further declaration of non-use or tax their vehicle, are being issued by the National Vehicle and Driver File.

- Vehicle owners can renew their declaration online at www.motortax.ie, as well as in motor tax offices. There is no charge for a declaration.
