Irish firm helps horse buyers decide at Oz sale

Genetic information provided by Irish company Equinome helped buyers make their choices at this week’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale of racehorses in Queensland, Australia.

On the equinomesales.com website, bloodstock buyers can purchase genetic profile information of horses offered for auction.

Last year’s Magic Millions sale of yearlings grossed €48.5m, averaging €92,000 for the 527 which were sold. This year, 650 horses were entered, and genetic information for 225 of the yearlings, from 18 vendors, was available on the new website.
