The deal will create two jobs to add to the 20 staff already employed at its Dunmanway base. Dunnes will stock Spice O’Life’s five ‘Insanely Good’ sauces.

The company, which is owned by West Cork natives Tom Kearney and Denis O’Driscoll, also produces spices and marinades for food manufacturing and catering companies.

Mr Kearney said: “We have worked incredibly hard to produce a really high-quality range of fresh sauces over the past two years, so we are thrilled to now be at the point of rolling out our brand to Dunnes Stores in Ireland.

“The idea of setting up Spice O’Life did not happen overnight. I worked for many years in the US for a high-end spice blending company and have travelled the historical spice route of south-east Asia to build on my knowledge of spices. Denis has a background in the pharmaceutical and food industries.”
