Most of the new jobs will be in research and marketing.

Dunboyne is the European headquarters for Alltech, headquartered in Lexington, Kentucky. Alltech European Biosciences Centre MD Kevin Tuck said the group has research centres at Lexington, Dunboyne, and Bangkok. Dunboyne researchers, specialising in cellular biotechnology, are expected to double from 30 to 60, after a €10m investment. Construction work for the expansion which will treble the floor space at the Co Meath location has just finished, ahead of an official opening in late October.

In the meantime, Alltech brings its Global 500 to Europe for the first time, on Oct 1-3 in the RDS, Dublin.

Global 500 is a networking opportunity for progressive dairy and beef farmers from around the world.
