Farms likely to see serious silage shortage

The first essential for top quality silage is to have a good clean ryegrass crop, properly fertilised; and this is very often lacking.

Due to the late growth and feed crisis, first cut silage harvesting is generally very late this year — and there is likely to be a serious shortage of silage on many farms.
