Championship wins indicate rise of interest in competition ploughing

Ploughing championship wins last week for Longford, Donegal, Tipperary North, Galway, and Kerry indicated the rise of interest in competition ploughing across Ireland.

Those who travelled from Kerry to New Ross celebrated the victories of Andreas Horan in the trailer vintage class and Micky O’Halloran in the under-21 junior class. Micky’s father Michael, has been a leading senior ploughman for many years.

Eamonn Treacy, Carlow, maintained his consistency as supreme ploughing champion.
