A plug-and- play wireless camera, it can be set up quickly, to remotely view an object up to 1000 metres away, using a hand-held viewer.

Or the camera (€480 plus VAT) can be connected to the internet, so that you can view images on a smart-phone or computer, with sound and better picture quality, and the possibility to record. Recommended by the manufacturers for viewing robotic milking, keeping an eye on animals in the shed, or in a cattle box when travelling, the camera monitors an area of up to 60 square metres.

An additional camera can be used to monitor a second area.

An infra-red, night-vision lamp can also be installed, to provide vision in the dark.

It is also possible to connect to a TV.

Also new at New Ross was the range of four McCulloch chainsaws, on the Liffey Distributors stand.

They come with engine technology to optimise the power-to-fuel ratio, lowering fuel consumption as much as 20%, and emissions as much as 75%, according to the manufacturers.

Also claimed is 40% less pulling force to get started. Each saw has an all-in-one combi tool integrated in the rear handle for maintenance, such as air-filter or spark-plug cleaning.

The three larger models include a toolless chain tensioner, allowing users to set the tension to desired levels by turning a knob.
