FarmSkills launch a boost for farmers

FarmSkills, launched last week, will provide farmers with practical animal health management skills, with a view to pre-empting problems and maintaining herd performance over the long-term.

XLVets Skillnet has established a panel of trainers with veterinary qualifications and farm animal experience, who will run FarmSkills events across the country.

The target is to hold 30 events this year and then to scale-up in 2013. FarmSkills events will be held on-farm in a series of one-day modules with small groups — usually no more than eight attending.
