Herd’s success since 1990s continues at Charleville Agricultural Show

Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney (and his daughter Beth) were on hand to congratulate Pat and Derek Frawley, from Croagh, Rathkeale, Co Limerick, and their cow handler Stephen McLoughlin, when they won the prestigious Maverick Golden Vale Cup, presented by Kerry Agri Business at Charleville Agricultural Show last weekend.

The trophy is for the All-Ireland junior pedigree Friesian cow championship for second calvers, and the winning exhibitor also gets €1,000 of the €1,900 prize money.

Winning cow Croagh Susie Mist 47, continues the herd’s line of Susie Mist cows which have been winning prestigious championships since the late 1990s.
