Charleville Agricultural Show 2012 – The Big One!

THIS year’s Charleville Agricultural Show, the 33rd, is set to be better than ever, with a programme that really has something for everyone, whatever their age. The show grounds have been developed too, with new roadways laid and ample extended car parking, so getting there and getting around will never have been easier.

Charleville Agricultural Show 2012 – The Big One!

With the weather we’ve been having lately, you might wonder what is in store for next weekend, but worry no longer! Thanks to far-sighted planning, Charleville Show is now almost completely independent of weather conditions, so you can be sure of a great day out in the colourful tented village, be the skies cloudy or clear.

Charleville is now the largest two-day show in the country, covering an incredible 45 acres and attracting thousands of visitors. When first established back in 1979, it cost €22,000 to run. In 2011 that figure had risen to €180,000, which gives some idea of how it has grown to encompass a vast range of activities and events, from the keenly-contested judging of cattle, horses and sheep, to horticulture, arts & crafts, cookery, and numerous children’s competitions. It is a real family day out with something to interest everyone from Grandad to Junior.
