Collector’s farm has a vintage advantage

This Gullane, Roscarbery farm, which hits the market this week, was the home of the late John Burns, a man who was well known in the Roscarbery/Glandore area of West Cork as a collector of vintage cars and tractors and a dealer in farm machinery.

Collector’s farm has a vintage advantage

Following a record-breaking sale of the farm stock through CCM recently, agents Hodnett Forde are about to sell the farm, but this weekend will auction the contents.

These include a significant collection of vintage cars, but also a range of vintage tractors which include two rare Ford Nans for which the agents have yet to set pre-auction guides. A big crowd is expected as Mr Burns was well known in machinery and vintage circles, says John Hodnett, and used to ferry guests at local weddings around in his vintage vehicles as a courtesy to neighbours.
