Bid to maximise the market returns for Limousin breeders

A heifer carcase competition in December will follow up the Irish Limousin Cattle Society’s successful cow carcase competitions, arranged in conjunction with Ashbourne Meats in Roscrea.

The heifer competition will be open to Limousins and Limousin crosses. The aim is to maximise market returns for Limousin breeders and customers.

There will be two categories — maiden heifers under 24 months of carcase weight 300 to 400 kg, and once-calved heifers of maximum age 36 to 42 months.
