Shanagarry members don aprons for television role
A film crew recorded a guild meeting where members tried out two of Rachel’s recipes, and they were filmed in Mary Garde’s kitchen in Garryvoe.
Mary Cullinane, Mary Garde, Rosalie Dunne and Eileen Kenneally were the guild’s TV cooks, making easy lemon cake and seared beef salad, proudly wearing their Shanagarry ICA aprons.
The programmes have been shown on the Good Food Channel and the series is currently running on RTÉ, where the Shanagarry members will feature in an upcoming episode.
* Shanagarry ICA started their festive season with a lovely night out in the Grainstore at Ballymaloe, where they listened to Phil Coulter.
A Christmas night in the Churchtown South hall featured Peter Manning’s wood-turning demonstration, in support of the Edith Wilkins India Foundation. It was followed by mince pies, Christmas pudding and mulled wine by the fireside, a gifts lucky dip, chat, a recitation and Christmas carol.
