Full auction house drives price to €380,000
The McCarthy and McGrath agent had given a guide price of “in excess of €8,500 per acre” for the land.
The farm was sold in its entirety for €380,000 — the equivalent of €9,500 per acre.
A lot of farmers were interested in this good quality level farm, which is suitable for tillage or grazing, said Mr McGrath.
He would not indicate the purchaser, as it was bought by a solicitor in trust, but it is likely to be a farmer buyer.
The property opened at €150,000, and was quickly bid up to €350,000, at which stage it was put on the market and subsequently bid up to €380,000.
It’s a residential farm, with a detached bungalow. It is located midway between Shanagarry and Ballycotton, and the property has road frontage.
