All-in 450 cent/kg for factory lambs

THERE has been further slippage in lamb prices at some processing plants this week, reflecting market instability on the continent.

While some processors have reduced prices by as much as 5 cent/kg, most prices quoted by processors are similar to last week’s.

An all-in 450 cent/kg (160p/lb) is quoted by Moyvalley Meats. The neighbouring Kildare Chilling and the Kepak plants at Hacketstown and Athleague offer 440 cent/kg (157p/lb) plus bonus for quality, while Dawn and ICM are on 435 cent/kg (155p/lb), plus the bonus.
