THE new Meat Village at the Tullamore Show and AIB National Livestock Show will offer an opportunity for processors to engage with cattle farmers to highlight the requirements of the meat market, and for farmers and processors to share knowledge with retailers.

Most of the main meat processors have already confirmed they will be involved, and the project is attracting the interest of a number of international meat processors, revealed organisers of the show, which will take place on Sunday, August 14. Consumers will be catered for with mouth-watering tastes of best value products.

The competitive element of the AIB National Livestock Show continues with some changes, particularly in the commercial cattle classes, which will now be based on age and weight, and will be open only to Bord Bia Quality Assured herds.
