IFA predicts €1m up for distribution from Single Payment reserve

THERE will be up to €1m available for distribution from the Single Payment 2011 reserve, according to IFA.

National Livestock Committee chairman Michael Doran said 276 applicants in 2010 were successful in obtaining entitlements to the value of €850,453 from the reserve, worth an average of €3,081 each. A number of cases are still to be finalised.

Following a meeting of the Single Payment Advisory Committee in the Department of Agriculture last week, he said the committee is recommending two national reserve categories, as in previous years.
