Guide price for over 15 acres in Co Kerry is ‘equivalent of a good acre site’
There were four bidders in the fray for the lands at Flemby, says auctioneer Ger Carmody, only one of which was a farmer, but two are involved in land-based businesses and the third was a solicitor acting in trust.
The property, which is just outside Tralee, is for sale by private treaty, but finance appears to be the problem, the agent says.
Purchasers in this market are finding it difficult to get money for a higher price level, but interest is still strong, he says, and negotiations continue.
The same agent is also selling 15 to 16 acres of marginal land at Spa, Tralee, and has given it a guide of €200,0000, almost the equivalent of a good acre site in the locality, he says.
The property might allow a planning permission for a dwelling if used as a hobby farm.
Key local workers and people from the area, in need of housing, are generally within the criteria for permission to build.
