WHAT a week. With all the financial to-ing and fro-ing between Brussels and Dublin last week, it’s no wonder bids were slow in coming for a fine grassland farm at Ballyneale, Ballingarry, Co Limerick.

The extensively improved property went for auction on Thursday, and drew only desultory bids, but there was a flurry of activity after the auction.

David Ashmore of Savills was slow to give the details, because matters are now under private treaty, but confirmed he has sold one lot of the 115-acre farm, and has a serious offer on another.
