Auctioneer expects to close on €1.1m guide
The agent had a number of bidders at the July 15 auction of the 87-acre farm, but all of those were interested in lots.
The lots comprised 66.5 acres; 18.5 acres; and a modern two-storey house in excellent condition with 2.5 acres.
The total of bids on the day came to €980,000, less than the guide of €1.1 million, but not bad considering the climate, and Pat Gannon says negotiations are still ongoing. He expects to reach a conclusion shortly.
It looks likely that the property will sell for in excess of the magic million figure.
“I’m hoping to get it close to the guide price, and if I get it up to over the million my vendor should be pulling the lever,” says Gannon.
The seven auction bidders were all from the locality, he says, which is symptomatic of the property market at the moment, adding that there are very few out-of-county buyers for land anymore.
“It’s top quality limestone land, an excellent dual-purpose farm,” he says.
