Large grass farm sells for in excess of asking price
The agent sold the 103-acre property in just two months, having received expressions of interest from all over the county.
The eventual purchasers were a pair of local farmers who clubbed together to seal the deal for more than the €8,000 per acre guide. It is believed to have sold for between €850,000 and €900,000.
Liam Mullins describes the property as a fine block of land. Considering that two other properties were on the market in Churchtown at the same time, its fast sale was a good indication of its quality.
The Ballinguile farm is close to the period village of Churchtown, and less than 16km from Mallow. The sale included a four-bedroomed, two-storey residence, a single-storey cottage and a yard with a cubicle house and hay barn with lean-to and silage pit. The property is off the main Churchtown to Liscarroll road.
Meanwhile, the same agent is launching 45 acres for sale at Lyre, Carrignavar. The holding, in three lots, is offered at a €10,000 per acre figure, and some is already under offer.
Lot one is 30 acres of grassland, with good road frontage, lot two comprises 10 acres, and the final lot of five acres may have house site value. There is an offer on the entire at present.
