Fossa farmland an opportunity for house builders

“AT the height of it, this land would have been worth €850,000 to €900,000, and it’s possible to get planning for a fantastic, detached house,” says Donal Cullotty of Coyne and Culloty Real Estate Alliance of a 22.5 acre farm at Crohane, Fossa, Co Kerry.

The land, part of a larger holding which sold for close to €1.5 million at auction less than two years ago, is now surplus to requirements, and is being offered by private treaty at €400,000.

Located off the main Killarney to Dingle road, it’s just eight kilometres from the centre of town and will be eyed up for its house site value, says Culloty.

At over €17,000 per acre, it’s on the steep side for farmer buyers, and it’s likely the proximity to Aghadoe and the superlative views of the Lakes of Killarney will attract other buyers.

The property has only just come on the market, and there have been no offers so far, but agents expect a good bit of interest, especially coming into the summer.
