Galway milk co-op in deals with Aldi, Dawn

ARRABAWN DAIRIES will supply Aldi with Irish milk which they say will be up to 30% cheaper than the leading competing Irish brands.

The Co Galway based co-op, a producer of dairy consumer products and ingredients, has also agreed to acquire Dawn Dairies Limited’s milk business in Co Galway in a deal understood to be worth between €5 million and €6m.

The deal would strengthen Arrabawn’s position in the Irish liquid milk market and increase its competitiveness, a company spokesperson said. Dawn Dairies is part of the Kerry Group.
