Busy agent gets €1.4m for 57 acres

FOLLOWING the sale of a drystock and tillage farm at Templesque, Glanmire, Co Cork, auctioneer Christy Buckley has three farms new on his books.

In a climate where farm sales are slow to conclude, the Ballinhassig-based agent has the 57-acre Glanmire farm deal done and dusted, for a total of €1.4 million to five separate buyers.

Two of the buyers were adjoining farmers, while hobby farming interests were behind the remaining buyers’ purchases.
