Sun trap holding goes under hammer

AS LEVEL as a billiard table and a real sun trap. That’s how Tom Brady describes a 9.2-acre holding near Carey’s Cross, Bandon.

The Co Cork land is in two fields, and while it has been on the market for some time, the Brady Auctioneers agent is to take it to auction tomorrow with a guide price of €270,000 to €300,000 per acre.

“Top quality” and “highly productive” are other adjectives he uses and, as the land is only three miles from Bandon, it is sure to be eyed-up for its non-farming development value.

“Plots of this size do not come up for public auction very often, especially in an area where land prices are at a premium,” he says.

He expects a good attendance for the auction at 3.30pm tomorrow in the Munster Arms Hotel, Bandon.
