New top cow at the National Spring Fair

CO Dublin breeder Cyril Dowling showed the senior champion of last weekend’s National Spring Fair at Naas, Co Kildare.

Out of 135 dairy animals in 18 classes and five championships, judges at the show placed Dowling’s Almondene Biddy 270 ahead of the top cow of 2007, Smearlaview A Storm Vixan, shown by John and Tim Kirby.

Almondene Biddy 270 is the show’s top twice-calved junior cow in milk.
