Lamb prices fall as supply surges ahead in the UK

While movements in lamb prices at the factories has been slight, they have been in the wrong direction, from a sheep farmer point of view.

Lamb prices  fall as supply surges ahead  in the UK

Almost all of the factories are back by 3 cents/kg (1p/lb) from their starting price last week, quoting 344 cents/kg (123p/lb) as a base, with the usual 6 cents/kg to be added on for quality lots.

The exception has been the Dawn plant at Hacketstown, where 3 cents/kg (1p/lb) more is on offer.
