Auction sale of equestrian property exceeds guide price by €0.9m
The buyer of the period home on 32 acres was a young Waterford man with computer business interests, who saw off challenges from local, Irish and international bidders in the Michael H Daniels auction last week.
The original price guide was €2 million.
The family home of the late horse man Mick Connors, Pallas produced horses of note for buyers as diverse as local children and British royalty. Pallas horses were also used to pull the funeral hearse of the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
Mr Connors served as master and huntsman for Woodstown Harriers for many years, and he and his wife Gill raised seven children.
Pallas House, which is just over six miles from Waterford city, was run as a stud and equestrian school. The six-bedroomed Georgian home in a woodland setting requires considerable upgrading.
The property, bought in one lot, has 32 acres, a two-bedroom gate lodge, stables, an indoor schooling area, outdoor sand arena, barn and railed sheltered paddocks.
