Weanlings jump welcomed

A big jump in weanling exports has been welcomed by cattle farmers.

An 84% increase in the first three months of 2005, compared to 2004, is a vital boost for Irish suckler farmers who are producing quality stock, said Frank Kehoe, the Irish Cattle and Sheepfarmers Association national suckler chairman.
