IFA has called on Agriculture Minister Joe Walsh to widen the appeal of partnerships for dairy farmers.

“In particular, provisions for participation in REPS, animal health and herd number registration should be made compatible with partnership farming,” said IFA National Dairy Committee Chairman Michael Murphy.

“Also, the Minister and his officials must deliver on their long-standing commitment to give de-facto partnerships pre-existing the current legislation, many of which involve siblings or parents and children, the same recognition”.
