ICMSA president Pat O’Rourke said Agriculture Minister Mary Coughlan would be judged on how farm incomes progress over the next two-and-a-half years.

He called for an action programme that would implement the conclusions of the numerous reports that the incoming minister would find cluttering up her desk.

Mr O’Rourke urged Ms Coughlan to focus on increasing farm incomes to a level that allows farm families to enjoy the same standard of living as society in general.
