Appeal to keep dogs under control

Calling on all dog owners to be responsible and vigilant in ensuring that their dogs are under control at all times, sheep committee chairman Laurence Fallon said a stray dog is a dangerous animal in the countryside, particularly in the vicinity of sheep flocks.

Mr Fallon called on parents to think twice before they allow their family to take on the serious responsibility of dog ownership. Parents and children must understand that by taking on a new pet dog they are also taking on the serious responsibilities that goes with it, such as making sure the animal is under control at all times.
