International interest in dairy show

SOME 5,000 people are expected to attend the National Dairy Show at Green Glens in Millstreet today to watch 160 of the country’s top dairy animals compete for honours in 17 classes.

Ashley Fleming, a well-known breeder from Downpatrick, Co Down, will become the first Irishman to judge at the event, which is organised by the Cork Holstein Friesian Club.

Minister of State Batt O’Keeffe will be a special guest, while visitors from Britain, France, Spain, Canada and China are expected to attend.
