Live exports to EU go via Britain

Arrangements for the continuation of live exports through Britain could be in place early in the New Year ICMSA president Pat O’Rourke predicted yesterday, following a meeting with the European Commission in Brussels.

He said he was confident the Commission would implement arrangements that will allow Irish live exports to the continent through Britain.

The re-establishment of the so-called “land-bridge” across Britain would provide for a permanent and secure route to the growing market for livestock in the EU.
