€900,000 for 65-acre holding

A NEAT parcel of land with milk quota, just a few miles from Cork city, is on offer through CCM at the moment.
€900,000 for 65-acre holding

David Keane is selling this 32.5 acre holding at Lackenroe, Glanmire with 25,341 gallons of quota, and he already has seen keen interest. A lot of that is from city dwellers looking for a suitable site for a dwelling, he says, but neighbouring dairy farmers would also figure. There are a number of options with this sale; a townie could buy the land on its own, or it could be purchased and the quota taken away; or it could continue as a dairy farm. The sale includes farm buildings and a five unit milking parlour. The sale is by private treaty, and a guide price of e500,000 is given.

* Mr Keane is the joint auctioneer, along with Liam Mullins in Mallow, for a 65-acre residential holding at Maytown, Ballycotton, Co Cork.
