Walsh ‘to publish bill on veterinary practice’

A VETERINARY Practice Bill, on which the Department of Agriculture and Food has been working for the past two years, is expected to be published by Minister Joe Walsh before he leaves office on Wednesday.

It will replace and update current legislation governing the practice of veterinary medicine, much of which dates from the 1930s.

Minister Walsh said it will introduce new elements of account-ability and transparency into governance of the profession.
