Beef export failures disappoint Minister

THE beef industry has been challenged by Agriculture Minister Joe Walsh to avail of the access provided to the Egyptian market.

He told the Dáil beef processors maintained all along that export subsidies were too low to send beef to Egypt.

"When I made representations to Commissioner Fischler, he agreed to increase export subsidies, especially for Egypt, by 30%."
