Co-op transfer decision opposed

THE decision by Dairygold Co-op to transfer 120 office jobs from Mitchelstown and Mallow to Cork Airport Business Park is being opposed by the Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers Association.

ICSA general secretary Eddie Punch said yesterday he was appalled by the news.

“It is particularly frustrating that jobs are to be taken away from a rural area at a time when government policy favours decentralisation towards provincial towns.
