Bord Bia scheme gets independent inspectors

FARMS taking part in the Bord Bia Beef Quality Assurance Scheme are now being inspected by independent personnel, following the move up to the internationally accepted EN45011 quality standard.

In the previous EN 45011 accredited scheme, farm inspections were carried out by meat factory personnel.

The revised scheme was issued to the meat industry in early January, having been developed by a Technical Advisory Committee representing farmers, processors and the regulatory authorities.
