IFA welcomes milk price decision

Monaghan: The IFA has welcomed a decision by the board of Lakeland Co-op to hold its May milk price, just like Town of Monaghan.

Dairy Committee chairman Michael Murphy said Lakeland had been first to cut prices last December, but had then committed to IFA not to lead further price cuts.

“In the current context of uncertainty, it is vital for all co-ops to make every effort to pay the highest possible price to suppliers, if they are to maintain confidence in the industry, and ultimately secure their long-term supplies,” he said.
