Astronauts tuck into Arla yoghurts

ARLA Food Ingredients has stolen a march on competitors by having their new yoghurt chosen for consumption by NASA’s astronauts.

For three years, the Danish dairy giant had been working with food technologists at the Johnson Space Centre in the US to design safe, health-promoting, lightweight foods.

Their fruit flavoured yoghurts were on board when three astronauts blasted off from Kazakhstan in Russia two weeks ago towards the International Space Station.
