IAWS Group buys Carroll Cuisine

FOOD and agribusiness giant IAWS Group plc has purchased Carroll Cuisine, the cooked meats and ready meals firm formerly known as Carroll Meats.

Carroll Cuisine is a long established company employing over 80 people in Tullamore and Nenagh, and is widely known in GAA circles as sponsors of the Offaly county hurling and football teams. IAWS Group did not disclose the purchase price for the firm, but a spokesman said it was a bolt-on acquisition that fits into its convenience foods area.

Carroll Cuisine reported pre-tax profits of €2.5 million on turnover of €24.7m in the year to August 2003.
